- How did you first hear about CREW Portland?
- I first heard about CREW Portland through colleagues and independently as I was researching how to connect with women in Portland’s commercial real estate community.
- What motivated you to join CREW Portland?
- My practice focuses heavily on commercial real estate disputes, so I wanted to deepen my relationships with the professionals who understand the industry from different perspectives. I was also drawn to CREW’s commitment to advancing women in commercial real estate. I hope to contribute my own experience while learning from women whose careers and expertise are different from mine.
- How did you get here?
- I took a somewhat organic path. I began as a business litigator and gradually developed a particular interest in complex real estate disputes—matters involving valuable properties, complicated relationships, and practical business problems that do not always have purely legal solutions. Over time, I built a practice around that work and am now a partner at Tonkon Torp and co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Dispute Group. Along the way, I benefited enormously from mentors who trusted me with meaningful opportunities.
- Tell us something we didn't know about you?
- I became a mom in October 2024. My daughter has introduced me to an entirely new kind of negotiation, and it's one in which logic often has very little persuasive value! I wouldn't change it for anything, though.
- If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?
- Curious, determined, and pragmatic.
- Favorite Travel Destination?
- The Oregon Coast. It is close enough for a quick escape but always feels like a genuine change of scenery. I especially love it when the weather is dramatic and there is no pressure to do anything other than watch the ocean.
- What is one goal you would like to achieve through CREW?
- I would like to build lasting relationships with women across the commercial real estate industry—not only lawyers, but other real estate professionals. Understanding how they approach opportunities and solve problems will make me a better advisor, and I hope I can be an equally valuable resource to them.
