How did you first hear about CREW Portland?
I was first introduced to CREW in 2008 at a networking event in Reno, Nevada when I met an office broker who was a board member for CREW's Northern Nevada Chapter. After being a member of that chapter for five years, I moved back to the PNW and quickly transferred to CREW Portland.
What motivated you to join CREW Portland?
Networking, Business Development, Career Advancement, Meet Inspiring People, Volunteer, Be a Voice for Women in Commercial Real Estate.
I have worked remotely the majority of my career and CREW was an opportunity to interact with people locally and get involved in the equity and advancement of women in commercial real estate.
How did you get here?
My passion began with hotels and I was hired by HVS and was trained and then worked as a hotel appraiser for 14 years. Although I still enjoyed the work I was doing, I was in need of a change that would allow me to pursue new challenges, while also traveling less. I had been doing my own research and networking to learn about potential opportunities. I was introduced to Tax Advisors when the owner called me to talk about hiring HVS for a project. Our conversation led to an interview and in the fall of 2020, I left HVS and became Tax Advisors Senior Valuation Manager.

Reading is a great passion of mine and on average I read a book a week.

Favorite Travel Destination?
Travel is a passion so no one favorite destination, but generally speaking I love being in the mountains.
What is one goal you would like to achieve through CREW?
In the past, because I was so specialized CREW was more about just being involved in the industry but it didn't necessarily drive business my way. I am interested to find out if I can help grow Tax Advisors business now that I have a broader base of property types and know that everyone in commercial real estate who is affected by property taxes is someone Tax Advisors could potentially help.
