LRS Architects Appoints New President
Principal Trish Nixon to Lead One of Portland’s Largest Architecture Firms

Portland, Ore. – June 17, 2019 – LRS Architects has appointed Managing Principal Trish Nixon as president, effective June 10, 2019, following a unanimous vote by the principal group. Nixon will become the first woman to assume the role for the 140-person architecture and interior design firm.

“It’s an incredible honor to receive this vote of confidence from my fellow principals,” said Nixon.

“In my 23 years with LRS, I have watched the firm grow from a modest mid-sized firm to the dynamic, large firm we are today. I look forward to leading the team as we continue to grow, evolve, and set the stage for our next generation of leaders.”

Nixon brings over 30 years of experience to the role. A registered architect in four states, Nixon started with LRS Architects in 1996 before becoming a principal in 2003 and a managing principal in 2008.

Her experience with LRS has been broad, starting with the firm’s senior housing studio and then moving on to co-lead the civic and commercial studios before landing as the principal-in-charge of the firm’s multifamily and affordable housing studio in 2009.

Throughout the years, Nixon has been an active member of the community, serving on numerous committees for Clackamas County including eight years on the Design Review Committee, four of those as chairperson. She has also spearheaded several internal initiatives for the firm, including the newly formed social responsibility committee, which focuses on creating a more equitable A/E/C industry.

“No one is more qualified to take on the position,” said Paul Boundy, managing principal for the firm and president from 2008 – 2019. “Her contributions to LRS are endless, and she represents our ongoing evolution and commitment to the future.”

Nixon is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) where she served as president in 2017 and currently serves as an active mentor in their Future Leaders Program.

She will continue to lead multifamily and affordable housing efforts moving forward.
