Happy almost 100th Birthday to 1031 Exchange

With all of the craziness happening this year, Section 1031 is alive and well!  In fact, we are getting ready to celebrate the 100th Birthday of Section 1031 in 2021.

In the past few weeks, we have received calls from clients concerned about the possible threat the upcoming election may have to Section 1031.  We want everyone to know, we at Beutler Exchange Group and the professional Organization we belong to, the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (“FEA”) are working hard at the Congressional level to ensure 1031 stays around for a long time to come.

The FEA has been hard at work targeting a number of key members of the House Representatives and the Senate.  Including key members of the Senate and House tax-writing committees through Zoom calls and fundraisers.   The FEA has also formed a coalition with other partners in the Real Estate industry to update economic studies showing the benefit of 1031 to the economy and the stimulus it provides.
