How did you first hear about CREW Portland?
Monthly lunches were discussed in my office and Connie Hotovec is a member that I am friends with.
What motivated you to join CREW Portland?
Networking, Business Development, Meet Inspiring People
How did you get here?
With recessions, my career has spanned urban design, to architecture to interior design. With designing at different scales, I also enjoy projects that are varying in what program elements go into a building and being involved with different market sectors. I always push myself to learn and when my boss left the firm, it was a natural progression among my team to step up and take his place as a partner within the firm and to lead the team I had been working with.
Tell us something we didn't know about you?
I lived in Ireland for 5 years doing urban design and architectures, while also traveling all over Europe.
If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Organized | Loud | Supportive
Favorite Travel Destination?
Anywhere in Germany. But want to see Australia!
What is one goal you would like to achieve through CREW?
Connect with other women leaders at architecture firms without being in a super competitive environment to have a conversation about our industry and how they got to where they are. Even though we may be competitors we can still be supportive. It is also to meet other people within the development community now that I am being held accountable to getting more work and trying to figure out who to know than just other architects and contractors, as there is so much that is done before we get involved from the loan side to land acquirement.
