How did you first hear about CREW Portland?

I first heard of CREW from a friend. I had been a stay-at-home Mom and was returning to the workforce. My friend suggested that I join CREW to learn about Commercial Real Estate from a supportive network of woman.

What motivated you to join CREW Portland?

Networking, Business Development, Meet Inspiring People. I was motivated to join CREW after attending several events that were well-organized, social and beneficial to someone just getting back into the workforce.

How did you get here?

Networking. I have always been a firm believer in – it's not what you know, but who you know! When I was a new Mom, I joined a "Mom's Group" for support and friendship. A few years later when it was time to return to work I started reaching out to my friends, old colleagues and some of the working women from my Mom's Group! Shelby Skubic was one of those working mothers that I came to know. She mentioned that Northwest Landscape Services was looking for a new Commercial Business Developer and put me in contact with the hiring Manager. Before my interview she encouraged me to attend networking events to learn more about the CRE industry and it was the best advice! This August is my one year anniversary with NLS and returning to the workforce!

Tell us something we didn't know about you?

I love the annual Waterfront Blues Fest! It's such a wonderful event and makes me proud to be an Oregonian. This 4th of July just won't be the same without it.

What is one goal you would like to achieve through CREW?

To meet, network and cultivate relationships to gain a genuine camaraderie with like-minded business professionals!
