How did you first hear about CREW Portland?
Our Marketing Director, Erin Grodem- invited me to join her at an event over 5 years ago. I was so impressed by the quality of the event and the people I met there!
What motivated you to join CREW Portland?
Networking, Business Development, Meet Inspiring People. I really feel like CREW is akin to a sorority - the sense of "I've got your back" amongst the membership - across all business sectors is unlike any other organization that I have been a part of over my 25 year career.
How did you get here?
My background is in Architecture/Interior Design- working in the Silicon Valley area right after graduating from San Jose State University. I worked for several major retailers rolling out retail design concepts across the country for Sanrio (Hello Kitty!), The Home Depot (the reason I moved to Oregon). I was always most intrigued about the construction process and so, when an opportunity to work for a design/build firm came my way- I jumped on it. I was the Program Manager for US Bank- constructing several "in store" branches across the US while managing both the construction and the design teams. I was hooked and have been on the Construction side ever since. I now primarily focus on workplace/office, financial institutions and senior living tenant improvement projects.
Tell us something we didn't know about you?
I love art history and have been an active volunteer in the Beaverton School District Art Literacy program for over 10 years - despite not having children in the school system any longer. I hope to be able to volunteer again soon for a similar program as soon as the pandemic is over!
If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Favorite Travel Destination?
Siena, Italy
What is one goal you would like to achieve through CREW?
My goal is to meet as many new people as possible via the virtual networking opportunities- I'm missing connection!
