CREW COMMITTEES - WHERE THE ACTION IS
CREW Portland’s Committees work hard for you! From securing interesting, timely and fun programs and events, to interacting with the community and seeking more ways to benefit members, committees make all this happen.
The single most-effective way for members to benefit from CREW is to become involved. Committee members have increased opportunities to meet other business professionals and further develop a presence in the community.

The Membership Committee for the Portland CREW Chapter focuses on recruiting and retaining CREW members. Committee members are responsible for reviewing new member applications, hosting welcome lunches for those new members, and calling new members to welcome them and encourage them to become involved in a CREW committee. Committee members plan several events throughout the year for its members, including the annual CREW Committee Appreciation Lunch, 2-3 new member lunches, and a member-only event. Charity Committee
Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Portland believes in supporting the local community by annually selecting a nonprofit organization from the greater Portland metropolitan area to benefit from CREW Portland’s charitable efforts. CREW is happy to announce the nonprofit organization select for 2012 is The Shadow Project. The Shadow Project has reached more than 6,000 students grades K-8 who have disabilities that impact learning, including ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and communications disorders; typically read and write two years below grade level; typically come from low-income homes; are at risk of giving up on school--and themselves. The Shadow Project was inspired by special education teachers, who funded their own token economies in order to prevent the early discouragement that so often portends devastating failure.
The Shadow Project turned a teacher strategy into a community-supported program that fosters a love of learning and sense of accomplishment. Students even educate their non-disabled peers.
