Part 2 - So What’s the Big Deal About this Sustainability Thing Again? Presented by Elaine Aye
In this timely and informative presentation, Elaine Aye guides you through an understanding of current trends pertaining to sustainability requirements across the country. She will explore how this affects you as a professional, the work you perform, and how you can stay current and keep your stakeholders informed about this evolving process. She will also lead a discussion about how, on a personal level, sustainability has impacted you over the past several years. Has anything changed? What are the obstacles to being truly sustainable?

Jennifer Levy is the founder and owner of Cascade Environmental Solutions and has 13 years of experience in environmental engineering and consulting.  Jennifer has completed numerous site assessments including site investigations, evaluating the extent of site contaminates, and conducting feasibility studies.  Specific areas of experience include regulatory site closure for cleanup sites, agricultural sampling and evaluation, and water quality monitoring sampling.
Jennifer is an active member of her community, serving as co-chair of the St Johns Neighborhood Association. She is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Portland, and is a co-chair on CREW's program committee. Jennifer is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys traveling.

Elaine Aye is the president of Green Building Services.  She has spearheaded national green building milestones over the past decade with an emphasis on efficient design through operations of existing buildings. Her extensive background in interior design and architectural discipline gives her a unique perspective on occupant behavior and building operations. She combines this insight with a deep understanding of organizational culture to effect widespread change, enhancing both corporate and building sustainability.
At GBS, Elaine manages the overall operations and is responsible for business development. Her leadership abilities extend to client, stakeholder and project teams to successfully guide the greening of buildings and facilities management practices. Keenly focused on integrating building design with efficient and effective operations, Elaine’s exceptional collaboration and communication skills forge new awareness between project and facilities’ teams.
