This coming September, construction workers will descend upon the historic post office at NW Park and Glisan and begin its transformation into the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design.

This new home of the Pacific Northwest College of Art will become the northern anchor of the College's North Park Blocks campus, while the ArtHouse student residence, now under construction at Eighth and Couch, anchors the south. Between the two structures stands the Museum of Contemporary Craft, run in partnership with PNCA to provide unique programming opportunities for students in craft, design and curatorial studies.

When the dust settles, the North Park Blocks will serve as Portland's vibrant creative corridor, with students and faculty engaging in creative thinking and practice that will feed the city's culture and economy.
PNCA President Tom Manley will speak to CREW about the North Park Blocks vision, PNCA's mission and the opportunity that creative education presents for Portland and the greater world.
The program qualifies for 1 continuing education hour.
